Did someone say an ALL WHITE PARTY? yep, Unpluggd one of the most sophisticated, chic and up-market event in Soweto has unplugged their wires and everything turned white. White is the theme of this month and with spring around the corner what a better way to welcome the season and their calling it 'White Out'.

This is one of the best exclusive event I have ever attended, where glitz meets glamour. With its mounting number of attendees, Unpluggd had to change its venues three (3) time to accommodate everyone. Ray Ban, HenneseyMoet and Belverdere are the proud sponsors of this event.

On a Daayzie note: less is sometimes more-there is something interesting that I found about Unpluggd, they only use their Facebook page an emails to reach to their masses and they are doing it so well. With over 1 025 likes and attracting more than 55% attendees. For us PRP's we are advised to use all platforms to reach our target audience.

Applause to the PRP's of Unpluggd for using methods that really work for them and this shows that word of mouth still has huge impact on people's minds because a friend of mine recommend that we attend. On that note, a great way of promoting the above brands because that is one of the signatures of Unpluggd. And what better way to lure people to an event without a reward, you get freebie if you are seen to be the best dressed according to the theme. So if you looking to mingle, listen to great music and have a good time in Soweto, you now know where to go.

From worse to worst: Derby's are for weekends

NAME:  MTN8 Tournament
DISCRIPTION: Soccer
DURATION: Annual event
LOCATION: Soccer City, Diepklof, Soweto

It’s that time of the year again when PSL teams combat for the 8 million rand MTN8 Wafa Wafa cup. The MTN8 tournament features the top 8 previous league teams including our very own and most loved arch rival teams of Soweto Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. Everywhere you go, everywhere you turn the soccer fanatics are going cracked, but who would blame them, Soweto derby are always entertaining.

To be honest, I am not really a soccer fan, I never really follow the league, and I just become exultant when they tell me that Kaizer Chiefs is at the top or has won a game or something. In my entire life I had never been to the stadium until last year during the Carling Black Label Cup which was held at Soccer City and from that day onwards I have note looked back.

I am telling you, the rave that was going on in the stadium was amazing, the people, the vuvuzela, the drums, the singing and chanting, wow, it was out of this world. Well now, that anticipation has yet came upon the fans, the first leg (I don’t know why they call it leg but they just do) was initially scheduled to be on the 21st August will now be played on the 24th August and the second leg on the 24th September 2013 but that was changed because of the heart-rending event that took place in 2001 at Elise Park Stadium where 43 people lost their lives. A very sad it was that made other radicals like my uncle sore never to lay their feet at any stadium again. But would you blame them?

ON A DAAYZIE NOTE: Once bitten twice shy_ while I think putting up Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates is just another money spinner, changing the dates was just not a good call because they are not solving any issues, fact is, the 24th it is still going to be during the week regardless of the holiday. Ever seen how emotional soccer fan become when their team loses, to me it’s just a match and one team should win but to some people it’s like they have lost some part of their identity or they have bet their money on this (well some do). But nje, having the derby on a week day is not on.
